Thank God for Michigan

Rural hospitals are closing at an alarming rate. Our focus will be on securing more funding for these vital medical facilities and encouraging medical professionals to remain in these underserved areas.

Moreover, we aim to simplify access to state-funded healthcare, particularly for families, expectant mothers, and individuals earning less than $75,000 annually.

 A study from statista.com in June 2023 revealed that the average hourly wage needed to afford a two-bedroom apartment in Michigan is around $21.50. Currently, the state minimum wage stands at $10.33 per hour. Even with two parents working minimum wage jobs, their income is insufficient to afford a two-bedroom apartment. We are determined to fix this by increasing the minimum wage to a level that ensures everyone in Michigan can afford a decent living. Additionally, we will advocate for rent caps and restrict the amount of "student-only" housing permitted off-campus. Our efforts will also focus on encouraging landlords to maintain competitive pricing for families, not just students.

 Maintaining the delicate balance between upholding the Second Amendment and safeguarding public safety is a complex task. Jamie is steadfast in her commitment to work collaboratively with individuals from all walks of life and both sides of the aisle to do what it takes to keep guns out of our schools, concerts, nightclubs, and wherever else they don't belong. Together, we can create a society where Americans feel secure, free, and, most importantly, alive.
